Sorry that I have been neglecting you

But for the past week, I have been absolutley miserable with allergies! The ragweed in Texas is exceptionally high this year, and I wake up with my eyes glued shut most mornings. That, plus sneezing, snotting, itching, coughing..all of which has lead to a sinus infection from you-know-where. Yesterday, I spent the entire day passed [...]

And where have I been?

Oh, I’ve been around, just not blogging for a few days.
I’ve been working on my Mom’s Red Photo Album, I’m trying to do at least 2 pages/day. Gotta pace myself, don’t want to hit the wall, you know!
Last week I also got a RAOGK request for a cemetery photo here in Tarrant County, TX. It’s [...]

Finally!

This morning I created 2 more pages of Mom’s Red Photo Album, after not touching it for about 3 weeks. Last night I posted the album itself, to see if I could. (With my WordPress.com blog, I couldn’t post it!). Glad to get back into that task.

What a great idea!

I read several genealogy blogs and many of the folks writing those blogs talk about their research and how several family members often work together to get the job done. And I frequently hear that genealogy is one of the fastest growing hobbies in the United States. Well, guess what… other than the folks behind [...]

What have I been doing lately…

Not much genealogical research, at least not in the traditional use of the term…The here and now is always more important. By that, I mean… my living ancestors! My dad is doing very well after his triple bypass of a month ago. I went to visit him in Louisiana the weekend before Thanksgiving. I went [...]

A gift for Nanny

My grandmother turned 91 years young on Thursday, October 4. Today is her birthday party. Although confined to a nursing home for the past 4 years due to mild dementia, her memory of long-ago events is still surprisingly clear. She has been a great help to me in my research, and loves to tell stories [...]
